about

In 3 John, John is writing a personal letter to his friend Gaius. He commends him for supporting traveling Christian workers, though they are strangers. Even more, he commends Gaius for "walking in truth" and says nothing else brings him greater joy than this. Having learned the truth, Gaius is living it out by showing hospitality.

lyrics

Beloved friend
O I pray that you are well
And your soul, it is whole
And your body in good health

Beloved friend
Of your love I have heard
Treating others like your brothers
They have told the whole church

I have no greater joy than to see you in the truth
Such a deeper joy than I could ever write to you
So I wait to see you face to face
Until then God grant you peace
And grace

Beloved friend
Follow those who are good
Not the one who is selfish
They don’t treat them as they should

Beloved friend
You contribute to the work
When you welcome the brothers
You welcome his church
