I'll admit, this song (especially the first verse) is a little... shall we say... strongly worded. And yet, these are the words Jude has for false teachers. He compared them to waterless clouds, fruitless trees, and wandering stars. On the outside, they seem to be able to quench our spiritual thirst and hunger, they seem to be able to guide us through the darkest of nights. And yet, those who follow them come up empty. Jude warns the young Church to steer clear of them. Rather, he said, remember your faith, stay in God's love. Because one day, He will come with a host of angels and he will execute judgement and consummate his kingdom. On that day, I certainly want to be on the right side.
