about

From 2 Peter 3:1-14. In this passage, Peter is encouraging suffering Christians by affirming their belief in Christ's return. That day seems terrifying, as God judges with fire, the heavens dissolve, and the earth is exposed. And yet it is a good day for us if we are found in Him. As we wait for this day, it is good to remember that God's timing is not our own, yet He will be right on time. He is not slow in coming, but rather patient toward us, that no one should perish.

lyrics

That day will come like a thief
The heavens melt like snow
The stars, the sun and moon dissolve
Til all the earth’s exposed

O, but He is not slow
Though some would say it’s true
No, he waits to save
He’s patient for you

And though one day
Is like a thousand years
He will not be late
Yeah He will appear

Oh would you be found
Beneath His wing
Without spot or sin
The day hastening

As the world was flooded then
With water from the sky
So it will flood again
With fire by and by

Take refuge in Him
He is an ark to save
So you be diligent
That you may escape
